Before I ever met Manish, I marveled at the company-wide impact he was having even while not being in a position of authority. Over time, I understood that he did this, by his ability to view the world in ways that I did not appreciate at the time, from the soundness of his ideas, and his ability to express them in ways that made 1000’s of people want to follow. I believe this is a true manifestation of “leadership”.
Doing the above is impressive in itself, and a huge credit to him.
However over several years, Manish has been freely sharing his learnings with many of us at PayPal. Rather than providing solutions, Manish has helped us enquire about “Why in spite of every one from the CEO to new employees striving for business results, companies find it hard to succeed?”. Manish has mentored executives and new hires on how to think from a Systems perspective, when designing software systems, company organization or when trying to improve developer productivity. This has been to my immense benefit, and for that I am truly grateful.
I am glad to know that going forward, Manish has made it is his mission to share this perspective with the world. I will not miss a chance to continue to learn from him, and am excited to see the wide impact he will have going forward.
